the wake were a group formed in glasgow in 1981, including bobby gillespie and altered images guitarist caesar in the original line-up. recorded in 1982-83, this is a reissue of their debut album on 180 gram vinyl. 'harmony' was originally released on factory. steven allen's metronomic drumming and bobby gillespie's peter hook-influenced bass are at the forefront of most of these tunes, supporting singer / guitarist caesar's brooding vocals.
