for the first time ever on cd, the complete bell / soul city album catalog from the 5th dimension! a remarkable collection of talent came together to make these records; aside from the group's billy davis, jr., marilyn mccoo, florence larue, lamonte mclemore and ron townson, major contributors included association / turtles producer bones howe and songwriters laura nyro, burt bacharach and especially jimmy webb, who penned most of their first two albums (special mention should also be made of johnny rivers, who discovered the group and signed them to his fledgling soul city label). ccm have paired these albums into value-packed twofers and, whenever possible, packed bonus tracks (some unreleased!). into what with huge songwriting, arranging and conducting contributions from the great jimmy webb, these first two albums established the fifth dimension as hitmakers, and found them beginning to perfect their psych / pop / soul sound.
