for the first time ever on cd, the complete bell / soul city album catalog from the 5th dimension! a remarkable collection of talent came together to make these records; aside from the group's billy davis, jr., marilyn mccoo, florence larue, lamonte mclemore and ron townson, major contributors included association / turtles producer bones howe and songwriters laura nyro, burt bacharach and especially jimmy webb, who penned most of their first two albums (special mention should also be made of johnny rivers, who discovered the group and signed them to his fledgling soul city label). ccm have paired these albums into value-packed twofers and, whenever possible, packed bonus tracks (some unreleased!). the 5th dimension entered the '70s with a bang, or, rather, with a bell, as johnny rivers sold his soul city label to bell records, and these were the group's first two records for that label. 'portrait' featured the huge, bacharach-penned 'one less bell to answer', while 'love's lines, angles and rhymes' appears here for the first time ever on cd!
