Terumasa Hino is a leading Japanese trumpet player, four very special and rare LPs from his earlier catalogue are being reissued and are widely available outside of Japan for the very first time, for Record Store Day 2020. Hino's track Ode to Workman was featured on the excellent 2018 compilation J Jazz: Deep Modern Jazz From Japan 1969- 1984 released on BBE. These 4 records are important pieces in 1970's independent Jazz! After his return to Japan, Terumasa Hino formed a new band with Hideo Ichikawa, Kiyoshi Matsumoto, and Terumasa Hino, adding to US bassist Reggie Workman and Teruo Nakamura. Terumasa Hino's sensitive and wild playing is mind blowing. Gengon features both powerful and graceful sound and Peace and Love is so deep and full of beauty, these two songs show Terumasa Hino's serenity at this moment.
