lloyd cole has been making records for over 20 years now. cole and the commotions' debut album 'rattlesnakes' (1984) rightly won the singer-songwriter a coveted place in the nme's top 100 albums of all time. it established him as one of the most articulate and acute songwriters of the post-punk era. the follow up, 'easy pieces' spent 9 weeks in the uk charts, peaking at number 9. this album with volume 2 follows the commotions' career, through sessions and concerts recorded for the bbc to promote each album release and features live and studio sessions of some of his best music. 'volume 1' is, essentially, an alternative 'rattlesnakes' and features cuts from saturday live, bbc and richard skinner sessions plus an 8 track in concert recording from hammersmith palais in 1984.
