dean wareham and britta phillips are known for being one-half of the critically acclaimed band luna. founded by wareham in 1992, luna released seven studio albums and played their final shows last year. prior to that, wareham led the seminal indie band galaxie 500. in 2002, dean and britta released their debut album 'l'avventura'. once upon a time britta phillips was the singing voice of cartoon rock-star jem. she also co-starred in the coming-of-age movie 'satisfaction' with julia roberts and liam neeson. dean and britta scored the music to last year's academy award-nominated film 'the squid and the whale' and to morgan freeman's upcoming film 'just like the son'.
